The hide is surrounded by a 3" band of mahogany with a bull nose moulded edge. </p> <p>The desk top has 3 drawers either side of its length and each pedestal has 3 drawers to the front and a cupboard to the reverse. Two of the smaller drawers have an inset ivorine makers label 'Robson and Sons Ltd. Newcastle on Tyne'. All the drawers are of traditional dovetail construction with solid mahogany linings, well figured mahogany fronts, original brass swan neck handles and working locks. </p> <p>The desk has attractive raised paneling to both sides of the pedestals and stands on plinth bases with hidden castors for ease of movement.
