A very good quality Antique kneehole desk in mahogany with a black
tooled writing surface.
This early 19th century antique kneehole
desk with a black writing surface. The writing leather has gilt and
blind tooling surrounded by a 2 inch boarder of curl mahogany and
a bull nose edge.
This is a very unusual desk in that it
has eleven graduated drawers and most have only 9.
All the drawers are mahogany lined with
hand cut dovetail joints original locks and turned mahogany knobs.
The corners corners of the kneehole have
decorative carved brackets and the pedestals have plinth bases with
concealed castors.
The back of the desk is paneled and it is
polished all round for use as a freestanding piece.
