A large, good quality, well proportioned antique mahogany partners desk from the first half of the 19th century. The desk has a faded old gold leather writing surface with blind tooling.
*It has a water mark in the top left corner and other marks commensurate with use over many years.

The top is fitted with three drawers to either side of the length. The pedestals are each fitted with three drawers to the front and a cupboard to the reverse. They stand on plinth bases with hidden castors.

All drawers are mahogany lined with hand cut dovetails, brass locks (with key) and ogee moulding's to the front edge.

The writing surface is surrounded by a 3 inch band of well figured mahogany with a bull nose moulded edge. As will all pedestal desks it come in three sections for ease of installation and transportation.

The desk is in excellent condition and would make a real focus for any office or library.

*Old leathers which continue to be serviceable are desirable and enhance the antique look of the desk.
This is one of those rare desks where we feel it is right to leave the leather on the desk, however we can replace it with an coloured leather writing surface if you prefer.
