An attractive small antique mahogany pedestal desk from the latter part of the 19th Century. This small Victorian desk has a mottled dark tan leather writing surface with gilt and blind tooling. This is surrounded by a band of mahogany with a "bull nose" moulded edge.
The top is fitted with three drawers with mahogany linings, hand cut dovetails, original locks and brass ring pull handles.
The desk is made in three sections, top and two pedestals, for ease of movement and installation.
The pedestals are each fitted with three drawers, they have plinth bases and hidden castors.
The desk is polished all round so that it can be used as a free standing piece in a room. The size makes it ideal for a smaller room or alcove where space is at a premium.
