This very attractive circular antique we believe to be adapted from a Regency breakfast table in the early 20th century.
The top has an old faded pink/brown leather writing surface, which has markings associated with many years use, including an old red ink stain.
The leather is surrounded by a 1 inch band of figured rosewood veneer which is also found on the front edge of the top.
There is a four inch frieze fitted with four drawers which are oak lined with dovetail joints and Sheraton style knobs.
The table stands on a period base with substantial turned central column, four swept and reeded legs terminating in the original brass castors.
Tables of this type and size are particularly desirable and were this to be a completely original of the period, in good condition, it would command a substantial price.
Condition: The leather writing surface has markings associated with many years use, including an old red ink stain. The table has been adapted in the early 20th century.
