This very good quality antique partners writing table or library table is made from beautifully figured mahogany timbers. The top has a new black hide writing surface with gilt and blind tooling surrounded by a 'bulls' nose edge and rounded corners.
The
frieze is fitted with three drawers to either side of the length. These have cedar linings, hand cut dovetails, original brass locks stamped VR (Victoria Regina). The drawers fronts have ogee mouldings to the edge, circular turned wooden escutcheons and turned wood pull knobs.
The
table stands on four boldly turned baluster legs with the original brass castors.
This partners writing table or library table is a very fine example of its type with a lovely deep colour to the wood and a beautiful sheen. It has benefitted from having the polish revived and the expert fitting of a new writing hide. It is in excellent restored condition.
This beautiful antique table would be a stunning statement piece for any office, library or study. It is unusual to find an antique partners table of this quality and in such good condition.
